Palazzetto Bru Zane – Centre de Musique Romantique Française

The Centre de Musique Romantique Française is located in the spaces of Zane Casino, built at the end of 1600 as pleasure grounds of the nearby Palace Zane, now seat of the Institute Sanudo. Zane Dominic entrusted the project to the architect Baldassare Loghena Palace, but he died before the end of the work leaving the management to his nephew Marino. The latter also used it as a place of study and concerts for the young violinist daughter. The building, which is protected by the Board of Venice, it returns to its original use, thanks to the foresight of Madame Nicole Bru who, in love with the "city of the Doges" and the music, bought it in 2007 to create a center for research and execution of the French Romantic music. The major restoration work has returned to the city's sixteen beautiful rooms that make up the 800 square meters on three floors. An intervention that has allowed us to rediscover the precious wooden balustrade of the sculptor Andrea Brustolon, overlooking the main hall at the center of the building that is a concert hall. Great artistic value have also the frescoes recently discovered and attributed to Sebastiano Ricci. Palazzetto Bru Zane - Centre de Musique Romantique Française was founded as an offshoot of the Bru Foundation with the aim of disseminating the French Romantic repertoire, but also to rediscover and reassess the least known part, through seasons of concerts, seminars, publications and recordings. email: contact@bru-zane.com
