In 800 the famous English writer, William Wordrsworth, drawing on the Greek idea of catharsis through theater, wrote that whenever we are witnessing a work, in the broadest sense of the word, be it opera or theater, we implement the “willing suspension of disbelief that constitutes poetic faith” … that is when we see a performance suspend our strengths and we really believe that what happens on stage really happened … the theater as a representation of life, as the alter ego and mirror of our own feelings … this is perhaps the true greatness of the theater … Catharsis, renewal, purification by the representation. The Theatre: breeze regenerator for 30 centuries has accompanied man in his expressions with the language of the body, mind and soul, dance incessant fed by the sacred fire to lift the spirit. Breeze, the breath of life from our subconscious mind is transposed great on stage, conveying deep emotions. Breath of life from childhood that accompanied the actress-singer Salomiya Ambrosievna Krushelnytska. The same breath of life that the sculptor Ivanytskyy Ruslan of Ukrainian as the Solomiya, to resurrect with the winning of the international project “Sculpting the Opera”, promoted by the Puccini Festival Foundation of Torre del Lago Puccini (LU), which combines painting and sculpture of the great contemporary artists and the immortal music of the composer’s favorite in the world, presenting “Madama Butterfly” depicted in the bust of the one who first brought this to the success of Puccini’s operas, Salomiya Ambrosievna Krushelnytska.
“The mysterious art of the different beauties together …” (Tosca), so the two faces and two stories come together in an indissoluble, two women and their great depth in the theater and in life. So much so that the same was to declare that Salomiya Puccini Madama Butterfly, and formed a unity, and donated a portrait of the actress who represented in those clothes.
The opera’s Ivanytskyy remain assets of the Foundation of Festival Puccini Open Air Theatre in the Grand Foyer Giacomo Puccini in Torre del Lago Puccini, along with those of other great artists since 2000 follow: Kan Yasuda, Igor Mitoraj, Jean-Michel Folon, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Pietro Cascella, Nall, Ugo Nespolo, Roger Dean, Franco Adami.
