Tehran, May 27, 2009: Iran plans to hold the first International Student visual arts Festival focusing on Persian traditional art.
The festival will be held in December 2009 but the seminars on Persian traditional art have already started in different regions of Iran.

“Persian traditional art is the origin of visual arts. We are holding some seminars on this subject which are being attended by visual artists,” the secretary of the festival Ali Zahani told CHN.
Several countries including Italy, Spain, France and Germany will attend the gala and students of various f
ields can attend this festival, he added.

The first part of the seminar series was held in February 2009 in Qom and this coming October and November, universities in Shiraz, Rasht, Tabriz, Zahedan and Bandar-Abbas will host seminars.
He expressed his hope that the festival will be a good beginning for holding such festivals saying that in Iran literature and art are always interrelated to each other and are not separable.
The seminars are about the relationships between art and literature, music and visual arts and visual language, he concluded.
